Adult on branch. One of a pair seen. Published in HBW Volume 12 on page 132. Original HBW caption: The Snowy-cheeked Laughingthrush is a restricted-range species endemic to Sichuan and Gansu provinces, China, and present in the Central Sichuan Mountains Endemic Bird Area. It occurs in a range of thickets, scrub and stunted forests at high altitudes, between 2000 and 3500 m, and is threatened by the loss and degradation of suitable habitat. It is known from eleven localities, at some of which it is fairly common. However, many areas within its range are inaccessible and poorly surveyed, and it may prove to be more widespread. It is listed as Vulnerable. Elevation: 1329 m. Date added to IBC: June 21, 2016.
