Identification

POWERED BY MERLIN

Shy inhabitant of dense undergrowth in midddle- to high-altitude forests. Brown and scaly-looking overall with a gray face and pale throat. Male has a white throat while female’s is light brown. Very similar in appearance to the closely-related Gray-bellied, Chin Hills, and Long-tailed wren-babblers, but ranges do not overlap. Song is a vibrant, rapid-fire series of notes followed by two slower ones.
