Identification

POWERED BY MERLIN

A garrulous, sociable bird, often found in large flocks, both single-species and mixed. Warm brown with a gray crown, a broad black mask, and a luminously white cheek spot, and long white-tipped tail. Less extensive dark throat, smaller cheek patch, and lack of white forehead patch eliminate similar Black-throated Laughingthrush. Gives loud rasping calls as it moves through the undergrowth. Found in mid- to high-elevation forests.
