Pha Lom (16°58’13” N, 105°48’48” E), at c. 295 m, south of Ban Nonsomphou, Vilabouli district, Savannakhet Province, central Laos.
Highly distinctive species, only recently described#R; may have escaped earlier detection as seems to be restricted to a generally inhospitable and very poorly explored habitat; may require a separate, monotypic genus; further study required. Although original description mentions similarity to several species and species groups within present genus, it appears not to be a distinctive race or morph of any of them; subsequent records at numerous sites over several years have now refuted any claims of possible hybrid origin. Monotypic.
Limestone karst, both massive and as small isolates rising from the plains, from Luang Prabang to Salavan Provinces, in C Laos.
