(syn. Cyornis Ϯ Streaky-breasted Jungle-flycatcher C. additus) Portmanteau of specific name Microeca addita Hartert, 1900; "Addœca, gen. nov., differs from Micrœca Gould in having stouter feet and claws, longer and stouter nasal bristles, nostrils not hidden.  Type, Micrœca addita Hartert." (Mathews 1925).
