Alisteranus

(syn. Poephila Ϯ Black-throated Finch P. cincta) Alister William Mathews (1907-1985) son of Australian ornithologist Gregory Mathews; "Genus ALISTERANUS nov.  The tail is square - none of the feathers are elongated.  Type: A. cinctus = Amadina cincta Gould." (Mathews 1912).
