Alphaphilemon

(syn. Philemon Ϯ New Caledonian Friarbird P. diemenensis) Gr. αλφα alpha  first, primitive; genus Philemon Vieillot, 1816, friarbird; "Alphaphilemon, gen. nov., differs from Philemon in not having any of the head denuded of feathers and in having longer and heavier bill and legs.  Type, Tropidorhynchus diemenensis Lesson, 1831." (Mathews 1925).
