‡ (Anomalopterygidae; Ϯ Little Bush Moa A. didiformis) Gr. ανωμαλος anōmalos  strange  < negative prefix αν- an- ; ομαλος omalos  even; πτερυξ pterux, πτερυγος pterugos  wing; "c. x Anomalopteryx R. didiformis (Dinornis - Ow. Zool. Transact. III. p. 326.)" (Reichenbach 1852). The flightless Little Bush Moa became extinct at the end of the 14th century.
