Anthus Ϯ Striped Pipit A. lineiventris) Gr. κιναιδιον kinaidion unknown bird, probably the wryneck, but also identified with the wagtail; "Anthus lineiventris n. sp.  ...  Hic multis videbitur proprium constituere genus, a proprio Anthi genere præsertim alis obtusis dignoscendum, pennis 1-5 æqualibus (in Antho proprio 1-4 æquales); quod, si placet, nota saltem evidenti nititur et Cinædium appellari potest (Kιναιδιον, Motacilla)" (Sundevall 1850).  Var. Cynadium, Cynaedium, Cinaidium.
