(Gistel 1848); "Electron Gistel, Naturg. Thierr. Höhere Schulen, 1848, p. viii. New name to replace Crypticus Swainson, 1837 (not of Latreille, 1817) the type of which by designation of G. R. Gray, 1840, is Momotus platyrhynchus Leadbeater." (Peters 1945, V, 221).
