Eremiphantes

(syn. Ploceus Ϯ Chestnut Weaver P. rubiginosus trothae) Gr. ερημια erēmia  desert; ὑφαντης huphantēs  weaver  < ὑφαινω huphainō  to weave; "Melanopteryx (EREMIPHANTES subgenus nov., genotype Ploceus trothae *Reichenow; also rubiginosus Rüppell)" (A. Roberts 1947) (Laurent Raty in litt.). Undoubtedly a lapsus for Eremiplectes.
