Erythrostomus

(syn. Tanygnathus Ϯ Great-billed Parrot T. megalorhynchus) Gr. ερυθρος eruthros  red; στομα stoma, στοματος stomatos  mouth; "Upper mandible very distinctly toothed; lower mandible longer than it is high. Tail short, even or rounded.  ERYTHROSTOMUS, Sw.  Tail rather lengthened, graduated or rounded; the feathers broad. Wings moderate, resembling those of the next genus [Chrysotis]; but the tertials are not longer than the secondaries.  Asia, America.   macrorynchus. Le Vaill. pl. 85.  cyanogaster. Part 5.
