Hypotriorchis

(syn. Falco Ϯ Eurasian Hobby F. subbuteo) Gr. ὑποτριορχης hupotriorkhēs  hawk (latterly identified with the Eurasian Hobby)  < ὑπο hupo  somewhat; τριορχης triorkhēs  buzzard  < τρεις treis, τρια tria  three; ορχις orkhis  testicle (see Triorchis); "Hypotriorchis: F. subbuteo u. s. w." (Boie 1826).  Var. Hypotriorches.
