Anat. vol. i. tab. ii. p. 496, after April 19th, 1800. Type (by subsequent designation, Mathews, Birds Aust. vol. vi. pt. 2, p. 160, Feb. 6th, 1917): Psittacus galeritus Latham." (Mathews 1927, 312); "Kakatoe Cuvier, Leçons d'Anat. Comp., 1, 1800, table 2. Type, by subsequent designation, Psittacus philippinarum Gmelin = Psittacus haematuropygius P. L. S.
