Micranous

(syn. Anous Ϯ Lesser Noddy A. tenuirostris) Gr. μικρος mikros  little; genus Anous Stephens, 1826, noddy; "Mr. HOWARD SAUNDERS proposed for the smaller Noddy Terns the new generic term of   MICRANOUS, gen. n.   Genus simile generi 'Anous' dicto, sed rostro longiore et tenuiore, et rectrice tertia externa utrinque longissima distinguendum.   Typus est Micranous tenuirostris (Temm.)" (Saunders 1895).
