(Polioptilidae; Ϯ Collared Gnatwren M. collaris) Gr. μικρος mikros   small; βατης batēs  treader  < βατεω bateō  to tread  < βαινω bainō  to walk; "V.—MICROBATES, gen. nov. p. 72.  (μικρος, parvus, et βατης, qui incedit).  Habitus generalis Ramphocæni; rostro paulo crassiore at fere simili: sed cauda brevissima, alas haud superante, primo visu distinguenda.  Typus, M.
