Myrtha

(syn. Strix Ϯ Brown Wood Owl S. leptogrammica) Specific name Ciccaba myrtha Bonaparte, 1850 (= subsp. Strix leptogrammica); "107. MYRTHA, Bp.  -  329. pagodarum, Temm.  -   330. leptogrammica, Temm.  -  331. sumatrana, Bp." (Bonaparte 1854). Sharpe 1875, gives the type of this genus as Strix seloputo, the Spotted Wood Owl, but leptogrammica is the type by virtual tautonymy.
