Neopelecanus

(syn. Pelecanus Ϯ Pink-backed Pelican P. rufescens) Gr. νεος neos  new; genus Pelecanus Linnaeus, 1758, pelican; "Finally, P. rufescens Gmelin differs from all the preceding in the possession of only twenty tail feathers and it may therefore be placed in a new genus bearing the name of NEOPELECANUS."
