Neopoephila

Poephila Ϯ Masked Finch P. personata) Gr. νεος neos  new; genus Poephila Gould, 1842, finch; "NEOPŒPHILA, gen. nov.  Differs from Neochmia in having the tail-feathers more pointed.  Type, Pœphila belcheri Mathews." (Mathews 1913); "Neopoephila Mathews, 1913, Austral Avian Rec., 1, p. 196. Type, by original designation, Poephila belcheri Mathews [= Poephila personata]" (Mayr in Peters 1968, XIV, 359).
