Ophaetus

(syn. Spilornis Ϯ Crested Serpent Eagle S. cheela) Gr. οφις ophis,  οφεως opheōs  serpent; αετος aetos  eagle; "Circaetus? undulatus.  ...  This sub-genus of Circaetus, which differs in its straighter bill, and shorter wings, may be named Ophaetus in reference to its usual food" (Jerdon 1844).  Var. Ophoaetus.
