Lath.  Bec épais à la base, robuste, convexe en dessus, échancré et courbé à la pointe; mandibule supérieure couvrant les bords de l'inférieure qui sont fléchis en dedans. - Ailes courtes.  Esp. Pinson aux yeux rouges, Buff."
