Schwanzfedern fast gleichlang, nur die mittleren ein wenig länger, Oberschwanzdecken gebändert und den Schwanz fast bedeckend" (Reichenbach 1863); "rump white; upper tail-coverts jet black, each feather having three large and conspicuous oval spots of white" (Gould 1865).
