Tetragonops

(syn. Semnornis Ϯ Toucan Barbet S. ramphastinus) Gr. τετραγωνος tetragōnos  square  < τετρα- tetra-  four-  < τεσσαρες tessares  four; γωνια gōnia  angle; ωψ ōps, ωπος ōpos  face, countenance; "Tetragonops ramphastinus (Jardine). - A collection of birds received in the beginning of September last from Professor Jameson of Quito contains a very remarkable form of the Capitonidæ or South American Barbets.  ...  Tetragonops ramphastinus is of a larger size than the greater number of the South American Capitonidæ, and is remarkable for the form of the bill, which is very powerful, and almost square at the base" (Jardine 1855).
