Tiltria

(syn. ?Cisticola) Perhaps from unattested Gr. τιλτρια tiltria  plucker  < τιλλω tillō  to pluck (cf. Mniotilta). Reichenbach's 1850, plate LVIII, shows a warbler-like bird with a very short hind-toe, and full rounded tail with a dark sub-terminal band. Gray 1869, synonymises this genus with Potamodus (= Locustella), but the species illustrated is not the River Warbler L. fluviatilis.
