(syn. Columba Ϯ Eastern Bronze-naped Pigeon C. delegorguei) Gr. τρυζω truzō  to coo, to murmur (cf. τριζω trizō  to chirp); "Genus Tryzusa Heine [Turturoenas (!) Bp. 1854]" (Heine 1890).   Var. Trizusa.
