Viridibucco

(syn. Pogoniulus Ϯ Moustached Green Tinkerbird P. leucomystax) L. viridis  green  < virere  to be green; genus Bucco Temminck, 1820, barbet (see Bucco); "VIRIDIBUCCO, a  new genus.   Chars. gen. — Similar to Xylobucco (Barbatula of authors), but bill smaller, weaker, less turgid, the culmen perfectly straight instead of decidedly curved, and rounded, with scarcely a perceptible ridge; no naked space surrounding the eye; secondaries not so long, falling short of the primary tips by almost the length of the exposed culmen.  Type. — Barbatula leucomystax Sharpe.  ...   a Viridis + bucco" (Oberholser 1905).
