WHITLOCKA, gen. nov.  Differs from Climacteris in its shorter stouter bill and stronger feet and comparatively much longer first primary; from Neoclima in its broader heavier bill and longer first primary though shorter wing.  Type, Climacteris melanura Gould." (Mathews 1912).
