(Zosteropidae; Ϯ Chestnut-faced Zosterornis Z. whiteheadi) Genus Zosterops Vigors & Horsfield, 1826, white-eye; ορνις ornis, ορνιθος ornithos  bird; "ZOSTERORNIS, gen. n.  (Fam. Timeliidæ.)  Genus affine generi 'Cyanoderma' dicto, sed orbitis minime nudis, annulo vero albo, more Zosteropum, cinctis, distinguendum.  Typus est  ZOSTERORNIS WHITEHEADI, sp. n." (Ogilvie Grant 1894). These birds were formerly known as babblers, but, in the light of their relationships and distinctive feature, I suggest that the above substantive name is adopted.
