Canace, who committed incest with her brother Macaraeus and, after the birth of their child, threw herself on the sword thoughtfully provided by her father, King Aeolus of Etruria; an allusion to the loose polygamous habits of grouse; ex “Gélinote de Canada” of Brisson 1760 (subsp. Falcipennis canadensis).
