Given the rich rufous underparts and blackish head, this is unlikely to be a genuine African Blue Quail. Comparing this bird with images by Peter Ginn of a genuine specimen (AFBID and internet search), I feel that this bird is not the real deal and more likely a mildly atypical Asian Blue Quail, S.chinensis which, of course, is widley kept as an aviary bird.
