Media notes
My data suggest that the species’ population size is.....probably too large to trigger criterion C of the IUCN Red List at the Critically Endangered level18. Even if we apply a precautionary approach and assume that the population may fall below 250 mature individuals (the threshold for Critically Endangered), sub-criterion ‘2a(ii)’ would no longer apply as fewer than 90% of mature individuals are concentrated in one subpopulation (i.e., Soata adn Tipacoque area 60%, Susacon and San Gil 40%). Likewise, criterion C2a(i) is triggered only at the EndangeredMy data suggest that the species’ population size is probably too large to trigger criterion C of the IUCN Red List at the Critically Endangered level18.
