Media notes
A male feeding on the ground. Published in HBW Volume 15 on page 457. Original HBW caption: Endemic to the northern Qinghai–Tibetan plateau, Roborovski’s Rosefinch is found in barren rocky areas and alpine grassland at 4300–5200 m, usually in areas shunned by all other bird species. The difficulty of the terrain may account for the paucity of records, and the species may be locally not uncommon. Roborovski’s Rosefinch is often included in Carpodacus, but its long thin bill, long wings, short legs and shuffling gait are unlike that genus. Original IBC location name and coordinates: Qinghai (35.6394,96.7346). Elevation: 4411 m. Date added to IBC: June 21, 2016.
