A bird killed by young hunters, who flush the birds and then throw sticks at them. First record for Timor-Leste and first in Wallacea for more than 100 years; Intended to deposit at a Museum, but destroyed by Australian Quarantine. Elevation: 339 m. Date added to IBC: June 22, 2016.
Observation details
This was killed by some young hunters with dogs used to flush birds, and then they throw sticks at any birds flushed..... Bill=18mm, Tarsus 30mm, Wing 71.5mm, Body length was 117 mm (roughly, basically no tail). I kept the bird as a specimen, but was destroyed on entry to Australia by Australian quarantine services (for no reason really).
