A group of birds feeding on seeds among several Scaly-breasted Munias. Published in HBW Volume 15 on page 265. Original HBW caption: With so much overlap in their preferred foods, mixed flocks of estrildids are often found feeding together. Here Scalybreasted Munias are intermingled with Whiterumped Munias (distinguished by the blackish face and tail, and rufous uppertail- and undertail-coverts). In Bangalore, maturing rice crops are reported to suffer serious damage from mixed flocks of Scaly-breasted, Whiterumped, and Tricoloured Munias (Lonchura malacca), Indian Silverbills (Euodice malabarica) and Baya Weavers (Ploceus philippinus), which roost together in nearby reedbeds. IBC scientific name: Lonchura striata swinhoei. Elevation: 319 m. Date added to IBC: June 21, 2016.
