This taxon was so poorly known until recently that it was considered a subspecies of the Marbled Frogmouth. A recent revision showed that they are not even closely related, and that the Solomon Frogmouth is not only a different species, but that it shall be assigned to a new monotypic genus. So, its correct name now is Solomon Frogmouth (Rigidipenna inexpectata). Interestingly, just two weeks later I could film and record the voice of a Marbled Frogmouth in Queensland, which is completely different as you can notice if you compare both voice recordings.
