Identification

POWERED BY MERLIN

Large foliage-gleaner with startling yellow eyes and a long bill and tail. Rather uniform rufous above and paler below. Found in gallery forests near water, mostly foraging on the ground or understory, sometimes with mixed-species flocks. The call is a very loud cackling “ka-ka-ka karaka ka-ka-ka” with some rattling noises interspersed.
