Identification

Medium-sized, slim blackbird with uniform matte black plumage. Note the long straight bill with a straight upper mandible. Has a very small, but disjunct, distribution; occurs at the forest edge near marshes and even in sugarcane plantations. Usually encountered foraging in flocks. The similar Chopi Blackbird is glossy black with a shorter and slightly curved upper mandible.
