Identification
Common, striking brushfinch of the understory of humid montane forest in the middle and upper elevation of the eastern slope of the Andes in central and Northern Bolivia. Travels in pairs and family groups, often with mixed-species flocks. Distinctive in range – replaced to the north by Black-faced Brushfinch, to the south (at the main bend in the Andes) by Fulvous-headed Brushfinch.
