Small manakin of humid montane forest. Male is black with a sky blue cap and rump; females are green, brighter than other female manakins in the same elevational range. Found low in shrubby vegetation, rarely associating with other species. The male’s song is a froggy “pur-keep?”

Escapee: Exotic species known or suspected to be escaped or released, including those that have bred but don't yet fulfill the criteria for Provisional. Escapee exotics do not count in official eBird totals.
