Lars Petersson | the Internet Bird Collection
Lars has been a keen birdwatcher since the late 70's, starting with exploring the birdlife close to his home in south-central Sweden. In the 80's he started to travel abroad with his friends or by himself. The Mediterranean countries were the first destinations, but soon he started to look beyond the borders of the Western Palearctic. Over the years, Lars has travelled in all continents (except for Antarctica) and has become especially fascinated by the Neotropics. His life list now stand well over 7500 species, and 4387 of those are photographed (June 2017). For the last ten years Lars has focused more on bird photography, rather than going for new lifers. Photography has also become a vital tool in his work to protect the Golden Eagles. Lars runs his own website, www.larsfoto.se and want you to make a visit!

Videos, photographs and sound recordings by Lars Petersson
We spent a day circumnavigating Príncipe island. The real price was to get close views of the Tropicbirds.
