African Woolly-necked Stork catching insects on buffalo carcass. The Woolly-necked Stork (Ciconia episcopus) is a widespread tropical Stork that breeds in Asia and in tropical Africa. This bird was catching maggots and flying insects from the decomposing carcass of a male African Buffalo that had died in the mud of the drying Klopperfontein waterhole in northern Kruger Park during the 2016 drought. Elevation: 287 m. Date added to IBC: May 12, 2018.
