Media notes
A male Blue-billed duck displaying then diving. The Blue-billed Duck (Oxyura australis) is a small duck – the male has a bright blue bill, a black head and a rich chestnut body. The female is cryptically coloured blackish-brown and lacks the blue bill. Blue-billed Ducks are found in well-vegetated freshwater wetlands and dive rather than fly when disturbed. This male Blue-billed Duck was displaying to a female nearby, then dived. Elevation: 13 m. Date added to IBC: June 3, 2018.
