Media notes
Cape Longclaw skulking in grassland. The Cape Longclaw (Macronyx capensis) is a Southern African endemic that is common in high altitude grassland. The Cape Longclaw eats insects – this bird was hunting for prey on an extremely windy day in the Rietvlei Nature Reserve near Pretoria. My apologies for the wind roar and camera shake – the wind was terrible!. Elevation: 1481 m. Date added to IBC: June 12, 2018.
Observation details
IBC scientific name: Macronyx capensis colletti.
