Dusky Moorhen feeding pair feeding their chicks. The Dusky Moorhen (Gallinula tenebrosa) is a common waterhen found on urban lakes and well-vegetated wetlands in eastern and south-western Australia. Dusky Moorhens flick their white undertail feathers when walking or alarmed. Dusky Moorhens feed on aquatic vegetation, grasses, fruits, seeds and invertebrates. This pair of Moorhens were feeding their newly-hatched chicks on the flooded edge of Herdsman Lake, near Perth, Western Australia. Elevation: 7 m. Date added to IBC: September 10, 2018.
