A Least Seedsnipe perching on fence post on a windy, overcast day. The Least Seedsnipe (Thinocorus rumicivorus) is fairly common in the semi-arid Patagonian steeps of Chile. Least Seedsnipes eat a variety leaf tips and buds of succulent herbs as well as seeds from a range of plants. This Least Seedsnipe was perching on an old fence post on the Estancia del Centro on the Y405 Road west of Torres del Paine National Park on a very windy day – sorry about the camera shake!. Elevation: 256 m. Date added to IBC: April 2, 2019.
