A Little Grebe (or Dabchick) swimming in a muddy dam. The Little Grebe (or Dabchick) (Tachybaptus ruficollis) is the most widespread and common grebe in Sub-Saharan Africa. Their high-pitched, peevish call is commonly heard in inland waterways, particularly dams and ponds. This Little Grebe was swimming in muddy water at the Ratlhogo Hide, Pilanesberg National Park. Elevation: 1305 m. Date added to IBC: April 7, 2019.
