A Magpie Tanager perching. The striking Magpie Tanager (Cissopis leverianus) is somewhat jay-like and is found in lowland areas of South America east of the Andes. Magpie Tanagers eat insects and fruit, and sometimes visit bird feeding tables. This Magpie Tanager was perched in a tree on the edge of a clearing at Karadya Birding Lodge and Reserve in northern Argentina. Elevation: 400 m. Date added to IBC: February 20, 2019.
