A male Patagonian Sierra-Finch perching and chirping. The Patagonian Sierra-Finch(Phrygilus patagonicus) is found in southern Chile and south-eastern Argentina. They mainly live in forests dominated by Southern Beech (Nothofagus) species and Araucarias. Patagonian Sierra-Finches mainly eat grass seeds, but also take small fruits and invertebrates. This male Patagonian Sierra-Finch was perching and chirping on the edge of Lake Pehoe in Torres del Paine National Park, Chile. Elevation: 1264 m. Date added to IBC: March 14, 2019.
