Media notes
Pink-eared Ducks swimming with other waterbirds. The Pink-eared Duck (Malacorhynchus membranaceus) is poorly-named – its pink ‘ear spot’ is barely visible. Pink-eared Ducks are dabblers, feeding in pairs in the shallows of wetlands, rotating head-to-tail. Pink-eared Ducks are highly nomadic, with their movements linked to rainfall. These Pink-eared Ducks were swimming in Lake Monger, near Perth with a Grey Teal, a male Hardhead, a Eurasian Coot and a Black Swan. Elevation: 13 m. Date added to IBC: June 3, 2018.
