An immature Red-backed Shrike perching and calling. The Red-backed Shrike (Lanius collurio) breeds from western Europe east to central Russia and is a summer migrant in Africa, arriving in Kruger Park in mid- to late November and mostly departing by April. This immature bird is making its quiet warbled song as it perches on a dead thorn twig. Elevation: 287 m. Date added to IBC: June 10, 2018.
